TornadoSport

TornadoSport is the creator and sole rights holder of the eXtreme 40 concept. The company is lead and owned by multi World Champion Herbert Dercksen. TornadoSport's vision is to bring sailing to the public and combine the highest level of inshore multihull sailing with extreme high level corporate entertainment.

eXtreme 40

The Extreme 40 is the new generation of mid-size sports catamarans completely made out of carbon fibre laminates. Developed in 2005, the Extreme 40 made its debute in the international racing scene during several stopovers of the 2005/2006 Volvo Ocean Race. In 2007 this so called Grand Prix Racing Series evolved into a European tour, the iShares Cup, bringing the world's best sailors and Formula 1 technology to some of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

Goran Marström - eXtreme 40 Manufacturer

Marström Composites was founded by Olympic medallist Göran Marström in the early 1980s. The company philosophy is based on the simple desire to build lighter and faster boats. Marström was the first manufacturer to build carbon fibre products using an autoclave.

The Extreme 40 was created with two things in mind, action and adrenline! The gap was seen in the Grand Prix sailing market for a fast, inshore catamaran, which would be not only exciting to watch but cost effective to run.	The history of the Extreme 40 may be short, but full of spectacle. Shortly after the first built 40ft carbon fibre catamaran hit the water in 2005, Extreme 40’s debuted in the international racing scene during several stop overs at the 2005/2006 Volvo Ocean Race, in an in-port racing format, called the Grand Prix Racing Series.	TornadoSport, creators of the Class, have been busier than ever this year, with their build numbers rising into double figures. More orders were placed before the exciting iShares circuit started due to the high interest from sailors and their respective sponsors.
