Action!
The Extreme 40 was created with two things in mind, action and adrenline! The gap was seen in the Grand Prix sailing market for a fast, inshore catamaran, which would be not only exciting to watch but cost effective to run. TornadoSport created the concept of the Extreme 40 with Yves Loday designing the racing machine.

The concept
The concept is to build an easy to sail, light weight, fully carbon fibre racing weapon. The boat will fit inside a normal 40ft shipping container on its own road trailer. The assembly is quick (around 6 hours for 3 crew) and then just add water for instant fun. The crew normally consists of 4 sailors + 1 non participant, this is to allow a sponsor, owner, media person or guest to participate in one of the most exciting forms of sailing ever.

35 kts Speed
The boat is estimated to reach speeds of 35 knots on flat water in around 20-25 knots wind. They will also fly a hull in as little as 8 knots giving the best visual impact in all round wind conditions.

High quality construction
The construction is of the highest quality currently available. It is built entirely in an Autoclave from prepreg carbon fibre with a nomex core. The capabilities of the boat are quite wide considering its size and speed. The boat is not intended to cross Ocean's although it is easily strong enough to take on the toughest conditions involved in coastal and inshore races.

The Extreme 40 was created with two things in mind, action and adrenline! The gap was seen in the Grand Prix sailing market for a fast, inshore catamaran, which would be not only exciting to watch but cost effective to run.	The history of the Extreme 40 may be short, but full of spectacle. Shortly after the first built 40ft carbon fibre catamaran hit the water in 2005, Extreme 40’s debuted in the international racing scene during several stop overs at the 2005/2006 Volvo Ocean Race, in an in-port racing format, called the Grand Prix Racing Series.	TornadoSport, creators of the Class, have been busier than ever this year, with their build numbers rising into double figures. More orders were placed before the exciting iShares circuit started due to the high interest from sailors and their respective sponsors.
